Six New State-Of-The-Art Motorcoaches Added To The Yankee Line Fleet!
Yankee Line has entered the 2009 touring season in typical “robust” fashion with the addition of six new state-of-the-art motorcoaches to the Yankee Line fleet. Early April brought the four new German built Setra (Mercedes) coaches and two new Belgium built Van Hool coaches into the fleet.
The smaller Van Hool coaches are Ultra deluxe with only three seats across – two on one side and one on the other side, providing a very spacious comfort level for that special luxury tour or executive board meeting. Seating a total of 27 passengers, these coaches are being marketed within the Boston corporate environment as well as premium grade international tours visiting New England and the northeast corridor between Washington, D.C. and Boston.
The new 50 passenger Setra coaches not only have all of the many amenities that previous Yankee Line coaches have come to be known for, but have now added the capability for internet connections on board, Satellite television, XM radio, an I-Pod music connection and a unique satellite GPS system that allows the coach to be tracked wherever it may be. Yankee Line computers can access a complete display of location, speed and minute-to-minute diagnostic reports having to do with the mechanical operation of the coach.
Most importantly for passenger safety, Yankee Line is pleased to announce the introduction of passenger seat belts for every seat on the 2009 coaches.
The four new Setra coaches made their grand debut in April by participating in a convoy of Yankee coaches meeting a Battalion of United States Marines at JFK Airport returning home from a year in Iraq. Once the Marines were delivered safely back to their home bases for an emotional reunion with family and friends, the Yankee drivers then brought the four new coaches home to their new base in Boston.
